2003 National Medjugorje Conference

Father Charles Mangano received his vocation directly from Our Lady when he was on pilgrimage in Medjugorje in 1984. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1990 and presently serves as an associate pastor at St. John Neprocene parish in Long Island, NY. Father and his sister, Laurie, have made five popular Catholic music albums, performed at many concerts and co-hosted a weekly television program titled Spirit of Life.
Laurie Mangano-Chionchio has been singing in the church from a very early age. She recalls that she discovered God through song. Presently, she teams with her brother. Father Mangano, in a Catholic music ministry that reaches thousands. She also works as a professional model and has appeared in many national newspaper and magazine ads and TV video productions.
Miki Musa is known to thousands of pilgrims from around the world as one of Medjugorje's most knowledgeable and entertaining tour guides. His firsthand experience of the early days of the apparitions and personal friendship with the visionaries equip him well for his work. Miki is a talented singer and musician and has recently made a CD of popular Croatian folk songs, some of which he will sing at the conference.
Laurence D. Behr is the founder and executive director of the Association for the Arch of Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and International Shrine of the Holy Innocents. The organization's goal is to build a majestic golden arch over 700 feet high on the shore of Lake Erie in Buffalo, NY. The Arch and its Shrine will attract worldwide attention to Our Lady and the cause for life. The project has the enthusiastic endorsement of a long list of prominent clergy and lay leaders.
Father Virgilio P. Elizondo is recognized in the religious and academic world as "The Father of U.S. Latino Religious Thought" and he has received many honorary degrees and awards from major U.S. universities. He is author of many books, T.V. commentator for major networks' coverage of papal visits, and an expert on the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Father Elizondo has met privately with President Bush as a consultant on faith based initiatives.
Father Ronald Rieder, OFM Cap., pastor of Saints Peter and Paul parish in Huntington, Indiana, was a reluctant pilgrim to Medjugorje ten years ago but the experience touched him deeply. His testimony about how Medjugorje changed his heart and affirmed him in his priesthood is very moving and a powerful witness to other priests who may be "doubting Thomases". Father is well known for his inspiring talks and good sense of humor.
Father Daryl Rybicki is known for his eloquent and dynamic preaching and teaching style. He has led numerous pilgrimages to Medjugorje and has for many years, played an important role in organizing and leading the liturgies for the National Medjugorje Conference. Father Rybicki is the pastor of St. John the Baptist parish in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Sister Angela de Fatima, ASM is both a medical doctor and a religious sister in The Alianca de Santa Maria at Fatima, Portugal. She has met privately on several occasions with Sister Lucia, the only surviving Fatima seer. Sister Angela serves as medical advisor for the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Jacinta and Blessed Francisco. She is in charge of the National Rosary Crusade and the Apostolate of the Message of Fatima. One day a week she works as an emergency room physician.
